A combination of the old and the new with a brief history of the diverse cultures that have expanded this art-form beyond mere craft and functional objects. Basket weaving is one of the oldest art forms in the world. For centuries people have transformed materials in their environment in three-dimensional artifacts. The workshop will be a hands-on introduction to traditional basket weaving, with a contemporary twist using recycled materials from our surrounding area.
