Parents & Families

Teachers College is collaborating with partners to better support parents and communities who are interested in promoting sustainability initiatives in their schools. On October 2018, we hosted the first open house for New York City parents. The event included a panel discussion followed by mini-workshops on ways to promote environmental and sustainability initiatives in schools. Experts from the host organizations presented effective ways to engage school communities in sustainability efforts such as creating school gardens, reducing waste and energy consumption, and improving recycling.
