SSB9


Teachers College is rolling out the newest version of Self-Service Banner (SSB9) with updates aimed at modernizing and improving the user experience. SSB provides a large part of the functionality found in the myTC portal. Students, staff, and faculty interact with SSB when registering for courses, submitting timesheets and leave reports, viewing student records, accessing financial aid info, and more.​

This upgrade will impact much of this functionality. For more details about the changes and the implementation timeline please continue reading below.

What's Changing


The following areas have been revamped. The look and feel has changed, and there have been some functional changes as well.

Personal Information

Personal details such as contact info, mailing addresses, and emergency contacts are now in a Personal Information Dashboard. View and edit personal details including email and mailing addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contacts.

Student Profile

View registered courses and hours, registration notices, holds, and access transcripts, grades, and graduation applications.

Registration Dashboard

Prepare for the next term, view past records, search and register for classes, and more.

Financial Aid

View status of aid requirements, award offers, aid history, and other resources and notifications relating to financial aid.

Employee Dashboard

Access Time and Leave Reporting, Leave Balances, Pay Stubs, Direct Deposit Info, EPAFs and more.

Timeline


Self-Service 9 is available now to everyone.

You can find links into Self-Service 9 at the top of the center column on the folowing tabs in myTC: Student Resources, Faculty Resources, and Emplyee Resources.

 

February 6th 2023

GENERAL RESOURCES

The following functionality for students will no longer be available in Self-Service 8. Students must use Self-Service 9 to:

  • View and edit personal email addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers
  • View and edit emergency contacts
  • NEW: Update your preferred first name. 

March 13th 2023

STUDENT RESOURCES

The following functionality for students will no longer be available in Self-Service 8. Students must use Self-Service 9 to:

  • View grades 
  • View unofficial web transcripts
  • Apply for graduation applications
  • Search and register for courses
  • View student account information and pay

 

April 17th 2023

EMPLOYEE RESOURCES

The following functionality for employees will no longer be available in Self-Service 8. Employees must use Self-Service 9 to:

  • View pay stubs 
  • Enter time and leave reports
  • Approve time and leave reports
  • View and edit direct deposit info
  • Update Personnel Actions / EPAFs

 

FACULTY RESOURCES

The following functionality for faculty will no longer be available in Self-Service 8. Faculty must use Self-Service 9 to:

  • Enter grades
  • See the Class List
  • See the Faculty Detail Schedule

 

FAQs


During the pilot period, it is up to you. We encourage you to use the new Self-Service Banner 9 so that you have an opportunity to provide feedback and report any issues. 

 

Both SSB8 and SSB9 access the same data. So, for example, if you submit a leave report in SSB8, your supervisor can approve it in either SSB8 or SSB9. The end result is the same. This is true of all functionality available via Self-Service.
