The Tisch Food Center cultivates research about connections between a just, sustainable food system and healthy eating. We have three broad areas of research:
Food Systems: explore people’s conceptual understandings about sustainable food production and consumption
Nutrition Education: develop and evaluate food and nutrition education curricula and interventions
Public Policy: investigate policies and practices that facilitate or hinder effective food and nutrition education implementation and reach
The Tisch Food Center collaborates with scholars from a wide range of disciplines, as well as policy makers, advocates, educators, and community members to conduct our research. Our doctoral and master’s students are at the forefront of this work, designing innovative studies, developing novel food and nutrition curricula, creating relevant and practical tools for our stakeholders, and engaging with schools, communities, and policy makers.
