PARENTS of Newly Enrolled Students
Per New York State 129B Sexual Assault ""Enough is Enough" Law, Effective October 7, 2015
Teachers College is committed to the academic success and safety of our students. Sexual violence prevention on college campuses is a prominent concern nationally, locally and on our campuses.
Please know that our newly enrolled students are required to participate in the following:
- View the TC on-line Sexual Violence Prevention video - PETSA (Personal Empowerment Through Self-Awareness); and
- At orientations – attend the in-class Gender-Based Misconduct Policy for Students education sessions about the TC/Columbia policy, affirmative consent, resources and support.
Teachers College students have access to educational and support services. Through the academic year, the College offers additional trainings about Sexual Violence Prevention including Domestic/Dating Violence, Stalking and Sexual Assault. Also, we offer Affirmative Consent, Bystander Intervention and Men's Peer Group Education sessions.
We invite you to explore this website to learn more about the TC and Columbia policies, resources and support that we provide our students, faculty and staff.
