UAD lab members attend Fall Voice Conference

Dr. Sarah Perry, James Curtis, and Dr. Kelly Silverio attended the Fall Voice Conference in Washington DC on October 12-14, 2017. The Fall Voice Conference is designed to encourage and educate professionals on a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of vocal disorders. The focus of this conference is the clinical care of patients with voice-related difficulties and how clinical and basic science research guide clinical care. The conference is divided among invited lectures, panel discussions, and scientific presentations.

Joseph Stemple, PhD, CCC-SLP, ASHAF (University of Kentucky) and Nikki Johnston, PhD (Medical College of Wisconsin) were the keynote speakers. Dr. Stemple’s keynote address titled “Clinical Mantras and other Curiosities” was a highlight.

The theme of the Pre-Conference this year was "The Voice Evaluation" and was directed by Amanda Gillespie, PhD, CCC-SLP and Chandler Thompson, DMA, MS, CCC-SLP.

All three UAD lab members enjoyed the opportunity to develop collegial relationships with the national and international community of voice and swallowing experts!
