Zankel Fellowship   Thank you for your interest in the Zankel Fellowship. Most answers regarding the Zankel Fellowship can be found in the Zankel FAQs, but if you are not able to find the answer to your questions, we are always happy to help.

   Amy Hawley Alvarez

As Director of Strategic Partnerships, Office of the President, Amy works closely with the President’s Office team on the execution of special projects, including the Medal for Distinguished Service, Columbia Community Service, and Teachers College Community School (TCCS). In addition, Amy is also the program lead for the Zankel and Milman Fellowships. In addition to her MA and EdM in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College and MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Northern Iowa, Amy holds a BA in Music and a BA in French from the University of Northern Iowa. She also has certificates in Digital Publishing and Advanced Project Management from New York University. Amy is currently enrolled in TC's PhD program in Higher and Postsecondary Education with an anticipated graduation date of May 2026.

   Kelsey Mearman

Kelsey is the Assistant Liaison for Teachers College Community School (TCCS). In her role, she leads TC students who are teaching and working in various positions at TCCS and helps support the overall partnership in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Partnerships. Kelsey holds a M.Ed. in Learning, Diversity, and Urban Studies from Vanderbilt University where she researched public school investment and school-community partnerships. During her time in Nashville, Kelsey worked in Community Schools launching a Community Achieves model at a Title I elementary school, taught dance, and worked as an academic coach. Kelsey also holds a BS in Education and Exercise Science from her local university in West Palm Beach, FL.
