biographical information

Christina Costa has been the Director of the Dietetic Internship Program at Teachers College, Columbia University since January 2001. She received her Bachelors Degree from Queens College of the City University of New York in Nutrition and completed a Masters Degree in Human Nutrition at the University of New Haven. She completed her AP4 experience at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn. She is a Registered Dietitian and has an advanced certification in Nutrition Support Dietetics. From 1996 through 2000 she was the Nutrition Support Dietitian at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. Prior to that experience her work was varied among acute and long-term care facilities, nutrition counseling and consulting. Previous teaching appointments include being an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry School of Allied Health and an Adjunct Professor at Sussex County Community College.  She is an active member of the Greater New York Dietetic Association and volunteers her time for local wellness committees and health fairs in Northern New Jersey.

Internship in service settings in metropolitan New York, Rockland and Westchester counties, and Southern Connecticut. It includes experiences in clinical nutrition or community nutrition. Cumulative experience totals 420 hours. Malpractice/personal liability insurance, health insurance, lab coat, and physical exam required.
