About Us
Psychology is woven into the fabric of Teachers College – so much so that psychologists comprise more than one third of our faculty and are found in most of our academic departments and the majority of our programs. The psychology programs at Teachers College prepare students to investigate and address the psychological needs of individuals, families, groups, organizations, institutions, and communities across the lifespan and around the world. Students develop an understanding that enables them to work with individuals of diverse ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Perhaps most importantly, psychology at TC is distinguished by an insistence on linking research and clinical practice, combining a commitment to social justice with rigorous scientific method.
