Campus Software Licenses

License agreements include the Microsoft Campus site license, concurrent volume licenses for the Adobe Creative Suite (including Adobe Acrobat), MacroMedia Studio, and NVivo, and individual volume licenses for SPSS, MPlus, MatLab, Inspiration, HyperStudio, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, iLife, Quicktime Pro, and a wide range of other programs.  A list of these can be found in the Academic Computing Services office in 234HM.

The Microsoft Campus license allows Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, Publisher), MS-Project, and Windows upgrades (there must be a license for some version of Windows on the computer) to be loaded on any College computer.  In addition, full-time faculty and staff are entitled to load these programs on a home computer to be used for College related work.

Programs with concurrent licenses are metered with the Keyserver program on the College network, so that only the number of copies we are licensed for can be running at any one time.  In some cases, faculty can get a copy for a laptop, but 1 license is then deducted from the pool available for concurrent use.

For individual volume licensed programs like SPSS, each installation (whether on a faculty laptop or college networked computer) counts as 1 license, so there must never be more installations than the total number of licenses we own.

You may contact the Academic Computing Services office in 234HM for futher information on software license issues or problems.
