Digital Learning for the K-8 Classroom

Ongoing Enrollment

This four-module online professional development course prepares K-8 teachers to cultivate their students’ digital literacies and 21st century skills. Participants in this course will familiarize themselves with the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to establish digital literacy skills in themselves and their students through lesson activities and curriculum development. They will also learn how to critically evaluate modern digital tools and technologies, as well as how to assess digital literacies in the classroom.


Gifted Extension: Differentiated Instruction of Gifted Students in the Heterogeneous Classroom

Gifted students are present in almost every elementary, middle school, and high school classroom. The educational needs of these students can and must be met within this context. This workshop will provide an overview of curricular and instructional strategies designed to enhance the optimal development of gifted learners (and all learners) in the regular classroom. Topics will include general curricular modifications, management techniques, instructional strategies, individual learning opportunities, collaboration with other professionals, and outcomes and assessments. Special consideration will be given to those methods of differentiation that can be integrated readily into the learning environment of mixed-ability classrooms.


Global Mental Health Summer Institute

The Summer Institute in Global Mental Health is an immersion training program for mental health, health, and allied professionals working with populations that have endured severe adversities and trauma, such as domestic and political violence, extreme poverty, armed conflict, epidemics, and natural disasters.

Child Abuse Identification & Reporting

In this workshop, participants train in the processes of both identifying and reporting suspected child abuse and maltreatment. This is a single session, two-hour workshop that satisfies this particular requirement for New York State teacher certification.


Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)

July 9, 2017 - September 16, 2017

Participants in this workshop are trained to prevent and intervene with issues on harassment, bullying, cyber bullying and discrimination in an academic setting. This one day, six-hour workshop satisfies the requirements for New York State teacher certification.


Cowin Financial Literacy Institute

The Institute offers a series of collaborative and interactive workshops on teaching personal finance. The workshops will provide participants with instructional tools and resources to support students in resolving financial dilemmas and making good choices about budgeting, saving, investing, consumption, and borrowing, with an opportunity for participants to take W!se’s Certification Test to earn a Certification in Personal Finance provided at the end.


MathCamp: Integrating the Common Core Shifts into Mathematics Instruction

School Law Institute

Research Based Comprehension Strategies You Can Use
