LEARN AND PRACTICE IN ONE PLACE

From clinical and counseling psychology to human development, our programs span an array of populations and specialties. Students develop hands-on research and clinical experience in labs at Teachers College where they are able to examine risk and resilience in veterans, psychotherapy methods, clinical intervention, and more. Our School Counseling students roleplay sessions and provide one another with in-the-moment feedback. Our graduates hold positions in teaching, research, counseling, administration, and psychotherapy.

BE A PART OF HISTORY

TC is the home of firsts for the discipline of Psychology. Educational psychology launched at TC in 1899, soon to be joined by psychologist John Dewey. We offer 12 programs in psychology including two in Psychology in Education: General and Spirituality Mind Body – the first Ivy League curriculum to combine spirituality and evidence-based research within clinical psychology. Our students engage in experiential learning and teaching, contemplative inquiry, and collaboration and research that allow them to connect not only to their work, but to themselves on a deeper level.
