Dr. Odlum’s current work seeks to eliminate health disparities through applied Informatics-based approaches. In her work, Data Science, Artificial intelligence, and Big Data analytics are used to explore social network site data (e.g., Twitter) in support of infectious disease outbreak prevention, containment, and control (e.g., Ebola, MRSA, HIV/AIDS, and COVID-19) in high-risk groups. These analytic methods have also provided a better understanding of the unique differences in aging with HIV and strengthens her Precision Science approach to intervention development and implementation.
