We have a day for giving thanks. We have two days for shopping. Now there's one for giving back.
On Tuesday, December 3, Teachers College will proudly be participating in #GivingTuesday for a 2nd year by joining a vast network of more than 1500 universities, charities, businesses, families and individuals who have come together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.
Giving – the form of service, day in and day out, to individuals, communities and society as a whole – is at the core of what TC does. Now, let’s take a step further, and add giving back to our mission.
#GivingTuesday is also a chance to focus on TC’s greatest asset – our students. Whether they work as educators, administrators, nutritionists, psychologists, or policy makers, Teachers College graduates consistently become leaders in their specialties. These students see themselves as agents of change and constantly find avenues to improve the way we live and learn.
Student financial aid is TC’s highest funding priority, across academic disciplines. TC strives to lower the average $40,000 debt of our master’s students and to increase funding for doctoral students. In a field as important and diverse as education, it is imperative that our top students are not discouraged from pursuing their fields of study by the financial barriers of tuition.
We are all part of TC’s legacy, and are an equally important and influential part of its future. Celebrate #GivingTuesday this December 3 by making a gift to the TC Fund in support of Financial Aid. Give back to TC and our students. Support the invaluable work that they do, every day.
