The Value of Leadership

The John Dewey Circle brings together Teachers College’s most generous and loyal alumni and friends who support the College through a yearly contribution of $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund. These leadership gifts are a vital mainstay of our operating budget and allow the College to keep pioneering bold new ideas that shape how people develop and learn.

The Benefits of Membership

Members of the John Dewey Circle are invited to special TC events, including the annual Dewey Circle Reception with President Susan Fuhrman, and have the opportunity throughout the year to meet with faculty and students, to see first-hand the impact of generous annual support, and enjoy special recognition for their contribution in the TC Annual Report.

Giving Levels

Circle Members: $1,000 to $4,999 Access to special online content, including webinars, and faculty discussions relevant to today’s issues in education, health and human behavior
Scholar's Circle: $5,000 to $9,999 Enjoy all Circle Members benefits, plus: - A special invitation to walk with the Alumni Council at graduation each May and enjoy priority seating at Commencement exercises - Opportunity to meet with dissertation candidates and discuss groundbreaking research
Dean's Circle: $10,000 to $24,999 Enjoy all Scholars Circle benefits, plus: - Dinner with the Dean and Academic Department Chairs
Trustee's Circle: $25,000 to $49,999 Enjoy all Dean’s Circle benefits, plus: - An invitation to a special reception with members of the Board of Trustees
President's Circle: $50,000 and Above Enjoy all Trustee’s Circle benefits, plus: - Dinner with Susan Fuhrman

All contributions are tax-deductible.

The Annual Fund Scholars
       

With a gift of $5000, in support of financial aid, donors may establish one-year named scholarship for an individual student.   Your participation in this program will reinforce our ability to offer competitive financial aid packages that will attract and retain the gifted students whose achievements will advance TC's legacy of excellence in scholarship, policy and practice.   In addition to enjoying the John Dewey Circle benefits at the Scholar’s Circle level, you will have the additional opportunity to meet with your scholar at our annual scholarship celebration and learn about the work that you are directly supporting.
