Teaching Residents at Teachers College

Teaching Residents at Teachers College (TR@TC2) is a federally-funded 18-month (January - May) graduate level program designed to recruit and prepare secondary-level teachers to teach in high-need New York City schools in one of five certification areas: Teaching Students with Disabilities (TSWD), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Science Education – Biology, Chemistry or Earth Science.

Understanding the Sensory Processing System

This workshop will introduce you to the sensory system and how to detect challenges. You will also have the opportunity to investigate ways to make small changes in your inclusive classroom to meet the sensory needs of all of your students.

Affirming Diversity within Islam and Interrupting Islamophobia

Did you know that third day of school this Fall is Eid al-Fitr, a sacred Muslim holiday which NYC public schools have off? What do you know/what do you want know about Eid? How might affirming the diversity within Islam and interrupting Islamophobia be important for you, your students and your communities in this time? What do you know about Islam? What do you or your students know/want to know? How are you creating safe welcoming space in your classroom?

We have resources to share and welcome any/all of yours!!! We will also offer a structure for a workshop to facilitate with your staff to invite creating safe space to share about faith in the work/education space.

All are welcome, colleagues, neighbors and friends! Free! Snacks will be provided. Feel bring some to share!
