About Us
The Black Paint Curriculum Lab is a research and design space housed within the Department of Curriculum & Teaching at Teachers College. We host a vibrant weekly meeting for dialogue and cultural outings with a rotating group of participants, including current TC students, faculty, and alumni. Our activities center around investigative prompts to spark curiosity about knowledge that lives in emotions, memory, embodiment, senses, and spaces. We consider what might be learned from these provocations to inform teaching and learning. We wander, walk, map, and make as creative experiences that connect curriculum theorizing to actual curriculum-making practices for diverse populations in a wide range of learning contexts.
