The Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGIE) Special Interest group is dedicated to promoting research on the experiences of LGBTI students in schools, the diffusion and uptake of human rights norms related to SOGIE, the roles the international community and NGOs play in SOGIE issues, and other related themes. GLSEN believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. GLSEN is a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality. GLSEN has been conducting research and evaluation on LGBTQ issues in K-12 education since 1999.
