Meet Our Residency Supervisors
Teaching Residents and their Mentor Teachers are paired with a Residency Supervisor who supervises the residency experience, thus forming what we call a "triad." Residency Supervisors conduct observations and provide continuous feedback and perspectives on curriculum development and teaching practices to the triad. Jenna (Jennifer) Queenan (she/her) is a White, queer educator and organizer who has been living, teaching, and learning in New York City since 2011. She began working at Sunset Park High School in Brooklyn as an ENL teacher in 2013, where she co-taught in all subject areas. She was also the ENL Department Chair and facilitated the school’s Dream Team, a club for undocumented students and their allies. In Fall 2020, Jenna left the DOE to begin a Ph.D. program in Urban Education at the Graduate Center at CUNY. Her research interests are educator organizing, supporting immigrant/undocumented youth in schools, disrupting white supremacy, school abolition, and teacher education. Jenna has worked in a variety of teacher education settings in New York City and is excited to join the TR@TC program as a supervisor, having worked with the program as a mentor previously.
Jenna organizes with the New York Collective of Radical Educators and advocates for immigrant rights in NYC schools with the Teach Dream educator team at the New York State Youth Leadership Council (NYSYLC), the first undocumented, youth-led organization in New York. When she is not teaching or doing advocacy work, she enjoys reading, running (sometimes), and being in community with friends and family.

Pamela (Pam) Segura is an educator, facilitator, and organizer from The Bronx. Between 2014 and 2022, Pam taught BIPOC youth in nonprofit settings, two New York City DOE K-12 public schools, and summer youth employment programs. She left the DOE in 2022 to pursue a master’s degree in General Psychology with a Concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling (CMHSAC) at the New School for Social Research. She is interested in researching trauma connected to racial and socioeconomic disparities, substance abuse, and the mental health of teachers and organizers. Pam also organizes with the New York Collective of Radical Educators (NYCoRE) and the Institute for Teachers of Color (ITOC). She is excited to provide her Teaching Resident with social, pedagogical, and emotional support during the TR@TC program. Lastly, she enjoys running, hanging with friends and pets, and listening to music.
