Welcome to the International & Comparative Education Program
Education is central to addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing communities around the world, from inequality and displacement to conflict, democratic change, and sustainable development. The International & Comparative Education Program at Teachers College prepares students to understand these challenges in global and comparative perspectives and to develop the knowledge, research skills, and practical tools needed to address them. As the first and largest program of its kind in the United States, we bring together students and faculty from around the world who are committed to understanding how education can contribute to more equitable, peaceful, and sustainable societies. Our graduates go on to lead and contribute across universities, governments, international organizations, NGOs, foundations, and other institutions shaping education around the world.
