Professor Emeritus Schonbar Receives APA Award

At the annual convention of the American Psychological Association in August, Professor Emeritus Rosalea A. Schonbar received the Karl F. Heiser Presidential Award.

At the annual convention of the American Psychological Association in August, Professor Emeritus Rosalea A. Schonbar received the Karl F. Heiser Presidential Award. The award is in recognition of "Advocacy on Behalf of Professional Psychology," and recognizes her leadership in APA and in state organizations.

Professor Schonbar was Director of the Clinical Psychology program for many years and currently teaches the introductory course in psychology ethics to new students in clinical psychology and a course entitled Women and Mental Health. She has served on the College's Advisory Committee and the Faculty Executive Committee. Professor Schonbar was a member of the council that organized, wrote and contributed to the passage of the New York State Psychology Licensing Law in the 1950s under the leadership of another TC Professor Emeritus, Albert Thompson.
