John P. Seidler, who was a first year Master's student in the Organizational Psychology program and employed as an intern for the Special Events Department of Major League Baseball's Commissioner's Office, died as a result of a fall at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Marina hotel on October 18.

Seidler, 27, received his B.A. from the University of California, Riverside and a Master's degree in Sports Management from Springfield College. While at TC, he lived in International House and was a member of the College's Senate. Seidler was found dead on the second-floor roof beneath his hotel room. Local police said the death appeared accidental but that the investigation will continue. "John was an ambitious young man with a very bright future," acting commissioner Bud Selig said in a written statement.
