What's New in External Affairs?

The Director of Communications and Assistant Director of Communications positions at TC are now filled.

The Director of Communications and Assistant Director of Communications positions at TC are now filled. Diane Dobry, who has worked for the Office of External Affairs since 1997, has been promoted from Assistant Director of Communications to Director of Communications.

"I am looking forward to working with Heather and taking on the new role of Director," Dobry said of her new position. She will still be handling media calls, writing articles for TC Today, Inside TC and other TC publications, as well as shooting photos at various events.

In her new role, she will take on more of the administrative aspects of managing the day-to-day business in the office.

One thing that will be different is that she will no longer be the editor of Inside TC. That honor goes to the new Assistant Director of Communications, Heather Andrews. Andrews is also responsible for writing articles, taking photographs, and working with the media. She comes to TC from The Hearst Corporation, where she was an Associate Publicist for William Morrow and Company. In her position at Hearst, Andrews was responsible for promoting children's books to local and national media. She also wrote stories on a regular basis for The Randolph Reporter in New Jersey.

Andrews, who studied Media and Journalism at Rutgers University, was a founding member of the Communication Honor Society there and was active in the Public Relations Student Society of America. She also wrote and produced the Rutgers alumni newsletter.

Dobry and Andrews work for Executive Director of External Affairs Barry Rosen, who oversees the publications and public relations for the College. Also working with the department is Lara Squires, the Publications Coordinator, who produces the College's major publications and places advertisements in the media. Bill Coury acts as the Administrative Assistant.
