Graeme Sullivan, Professor in the Art and Humanities Department, recently joined 34 other New York-based artists in a group show titled Unforgettable: An Exhibition of Response to September 11. The show at Studio Gallery Chelsea, up from September 5th through 28th, featured art created by the artists after the World Trade Center attack as a response to "the challenge to record the moment," as Sullivan puts it.

In describing Alterpeace, a 60x54 inch sculpture, made of materials picked up off the streets on New York City, Sullivan said: "the discarded screen found outside a shop in New York became the ideal form to carry the visual snippets. Adapting the gallery space to add the life light takes the street piece back outside where it belongs." Sullivan has been creating a series of artwork, titled Streetworks, since the early 1990s, related to the "retrieval and renewal of found objects."
