The Scholarship Luncheon

Roozbeh Shirazi, a masters candidate in the International and Transcultural Studies Program and a 2004-2005 Elihu Rose Fellow, speaks at the annual Scholarship Luncheon at the Columbia-Princeton Club on Monday, March 28. Having returned from Afghanistan only days before, Roozbeh spoke of his experiences working with the Teachers College Afghanistan Project.  He described Teachers College's quest to help re-create the Afghan public school system by developing curriculum, writing textbooks, and creating teacher education programs. The luncheon is a way for donors and students to get a chance to meet each other and interact. Marge Goldwater, Executive Director of the Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women, also spoke at the event, which drew nearly 150 people.
