Anna Neumann Honored by AERA

TC's Anna Neumann, Professor of Higher Education, has been awarded the Exemplary Research Award by Division J (Higher and Postsecondary Education) of the American Educational Research Association in honor of her career-long research accomplishments.
TC’s Anna Neumann, Professor of Higher Education, has been awarded the Exemplary Research Award by Division J (Higher and Postsecondary Education) of the American Educational Research Association in honor of her career-long research accomplishments, including publications emanating from studies of professors’ intellectual careers, doctoral students’ learning of research, college teaching and learning, and academic cultures and leadership. Neumann was also noted for having modeled outstanding research mentorship of doctoral students.  During 2009-10, two of her doctoral students won major dissertation awards:  Julie Anne Schell, Division J/AERA’s Dissertation of the Year Award, and Negar Farakish, Oustanding Dissertation Award from the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE).  


The Exemplary Research Award is a special honor bestowed by Division J (Higher and Postsecondary Education) of AERA upon a senior scholar who demonstrates an outstanding record of scholarly research in the field of higher education. The award recipient is a recognized scholar whose published research has made an outstanding contribution to knowledge and understanding in the field of higher education.
