Come hear debut author, Maya Soetoro-Ng, sister of President Barack Obama, present a lyrical story relaying the loving wisdom of her late mother to a young granddaughter she never met.
Maya Soetoro-Ng was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is a writer and educator with a PhD in international comparative education. She says Ladder to the Moon was inspired by her young daughter Suhaila's questions about her grandmother Ann Dunham. Ann Dunham is mother to Maya as well as our forty-fourth president, Barack Obama.

Thursday, May 5 - Leonard Blackman, Professor Emeritus of Education and Psychology will read from his recent memoir, The Psychle of My Life, (c2009) detailing his personal story and career (4:00 - 5:30 p.m.).
This will be followed by a special Alumni Reception (5:30-7:30 p.m.) to celebrate this event and bring together the large network of special education researchers, policy makers and practitioners who have called TC their "home".
