Strengthing TC's Relationships in Asia
TC in asiaIn early June, a delegation from TC that included President Susan Fuhrman, Provost Tom James and several faculty members traveled to Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, meeting with alumni and prospective students. The trip included a full-day education conference in Hong Kong and culminated in the announcement of a new John Dewey Scholarship that will enable TC to enroll future generations of education scholars and leaders from Asia, regardless of means.

The Hong Kong conference, titled "Working Together," brought together education leaders from several Asian countries to talk about shared education needs and goals. Chaired by Edith Shih, TC Trustee and General Counsel of the Hong Kong-based company Hutchinson Whampoa, and envisioned by Fuhrman, the event included presentations by Khunying Sumonta Promboon, a Distinguished Member of Thailand's Commission on Higher Education and chairperson of the country's National Sub-Committee on S&T Manpower Development, and Ren Youqun Vice President for Financing and Logistics at East China Normal University, and associate professor in the Department of Curriculum and Institution. Special thanks to our TC in Asia sponsor Bosera Funds. For more on TC in Asia, click here.

BEING TC
The fiscal year for the TC Annual Fund closes August 31. Your support allows us to put resources where they are most needed -- to increase student aid, retain our top faculty and support academic programs in the classroom and in the field.

The Maxine Greene Society recognizes and thanks a community of donors who give consecutively, at any level, for five years or more. Reliable participation represents Maxine Greene's value of deep engagement and helps further our common purpose here at Teachers College. These gifts are a mainstay of our operating budget and allow the College to keep pioneering bold new ideas in human development and learning. Our leadership giving society, the John Dewey Circle, brings together Teachers College's most generous and loyal alumni and friends who support the College through a yearly contribution of $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund. Valued members of the John Dewey Circle set the standard in annual giving, inspiring others to participate and allowing TC's innovative research and academic excellence to thrive. Grace Dodge Society Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Phyllis l kossoffOn June 22 over 100 alumni, friends, trustees, faculty and staff met to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of TC's Grace Dodge Society.

Created by TC's Board of Trustees in 2001, the Grace Dodge Society is the College's formal recognition society which honors those folks who have notified TC that the College is a part of their estate plans.

Annually in June, TC honors these members of the Grace Dodge Society at a luncheon held at the University Club. It is a wonderful event and a great opportunity for our alumni to visit with friends and reconnect with colleagues.
