Quality Universally Inclusive Early Responsive Education (QUIERE)
There is a critical need to prepare highly qualified teachers to work with infants, toddlers, and young children with disabilities and their families. This need is especially acute for children with disabilities whose families are of immigrant backgrounds. QUIERE seeks to more fully address the needs of young English language learners whose families have low incomes. QUIERE Scholars will have an understanding of emergent bilingualism and will be able to use their knowledge in conjunction with research-based approaches to early childhood special education to create quality universally inclusive early educational curricula and teaching practices.
