Welcome to the ASWG website. We are looking forward to an exciting year at Teachers College! There will be many fun and fulfilling events this year and we hope you’ll join us.

We are happy to announce that we have opened our call for abstracts for our upcoming symposium in spring 2010. This year's symposium will focus on Aid in Education in Africa and the Diaspora. For more details, please see the conferences section of our site or click here.

Among many other events last year, we hosted the first annual ASWG Student Symposium on African Education on February 27, 2009.  Click here to check out the program and download the PowerPoint presentations of our participants. Other events included our annual ASWG Book Breakfast during which we discussed “The House at Sugar Beach” by Helene Cooper and an evening social at Africa Kine where we enjoyed a Senegalese feast.

We welcome graduate students from all disciplines to join us for our monthly meetings and upcoming events (which are posted here). We also encourage you to join our listserv by emailing us at aswg@tc.edu so you can stay informed about our meetings and events as they happen.
