A Conference for the Next Generation of Arts Leaders

The Future is Us was the first event of its kind. Student Advocates for the Arts (SAA) presented this conference with the firm conviction that students can make a difference as active participants in this country’s democratic system. The event brought together current arts and cultural leaders to address the next generation of arts leaders.

Through it, SAA hopes to contribute to the groundswell of motivated future leaders who understand the power of grassroots community organizing and its possibilities for initiating positive change in society.

The half-day conference addressed the following questions:

  • What need is there for arts advocacy in the current political and economic environment?
  • What challenges can artists and arts leaders expect to face in the coming years?
  • How can we prepare ourselves to meet and beat these challenges?
