| Meet the Composer |
Meet The Composer was founded in 1974 as a project of
the New York State Council on the Arts. Led by the visionary composer
John Duffy, Meet The Composer sought to enable composers to make a
living writing music, and to increase their visible presence as creative
artists. In its first two decades, Meet The Composer has grown to
become a national organization, serving composers of every kind of
music throughout the United States. Through a range of commissioning,
residency, education, and audience interaction programs, Meet The
Composer has revolutionized the environment for composers in this
country, establishing broadly accepted standards of payment and opening
the doors for them to work in cultural institutions of all kinds.

NASD provides statistical information, professional development, and
policy analysis services. It also makes available for purchase many
helpful publications, including a list of accredited institutions.

of the rights of Indigenous artists. NIAAA also provides culturally

An online resource for nonprofit advocacy with the goal
to encourage greater participation by nonprofits in the policy arena,
and to strengthen their ability to advocate for their causes. NPAction
serves as a "hub" for organization and sector resources
regarding policy participation and civic engagement. It is designed
to break down knowledge barriers, helping organizations to quickly
and effectively locate the information they need.
Through NPAction, organizations can learn the basics of nonprofit
advocacy; connect to policymakers and the media; discuss and voice
opinions on advocacy issues; test advocacy knowledge; and access one
of the largest online directories of advocacy resources-- focused
on, and edited by, the nonprofit sector itself. |

CARTS is a project of City Lore, a cultural organization

The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities
plays a key role within each Administration in identifying issues

the effectiveness of these endeavors, providing a mechanism for interagency

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is a national service
organization that exists to strengthen, nurture and promote the not-for-profit
American theatre. TCG serves over 425 member theatres and 17,000
individual members. Our programs and services include: American
Theatre magazine, the ArtSEARCH employment bulletin, plays, translations
and theatre reference books; grants to theatres and theatre artists
($4.4 million in 2001-2002); workshops, conferences, forums and publications
for theatre professionals and trustees; research on not-for-profit

Since 1952, Young Audiences has been presenting performing
