Activities
AERI achieves its mission through four main activity strands:
- Conferences and forums
- Capacity-building institutes/workshops on selected measurement, evaluation and methodological topics for domestic and global audiences
- Publications, reports and policy briefs
- Sponsored research and evaluation projects
AERI pursues a proactive agenda of knowledge creation, translation, dissemination and capacity building in the assessment and evaluation sciences. A driving element in AERI’s work is the mobilization of knowledge to different academic audiences, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders. Recent activities include the following.
- AERI Co-hosted the Gordon Centennial Conference at TC on June 2-3, 2021
- AERI held its Inaugural Conference in March, 2012: “Conversations on Validity”
- AERI’s second conference was held in December, 2013: “Testing Then and Now”
- AERI’s director co-facilitated its first national blog in March-May, 2014: “Assessing the Assessments "Education Week Blog 2014”
- The Inaugural AERI Institute was held in 2012. It drew over eighty participants and featured courses on standardized testing and assessment, cost-effectiveness analysis, program accreditation, causal reasoning, and other methodological topics.
