Deputy Director Henan Cheng and research associate Sarah Fischer presented at the American Educational Research Association annual conference on April 8th, 2021. This round table presentation was titled "International Concepts in Education" under the International Studies special interest group. Sarah Fischer gave an overview of the center's research on Paul Monroe in a virtual poster format. The title, "Cross-Fertilization of Education: Influence of Paul Monroe on China's Educational Development and Reforms in the 1920's" outlined much of the research project, including rationale and methodology, historical and contextual background, Monroe's 1921 survey in China, and Monroe's lasting impact. The presentation was supplemented by primary documents that were photgraphed at the Gottesman Library during the research team's recent archival research.
