The year of 2023 marks the centennial anniversary of the International Institute of Teachers College, Columbia University.
The International Institute was founded in 1923 under grants from the Rockefeller Foundation. Professor Paul Monroe was the founding director. Throughout its operation from 1923 to 1938, the International Institute made a significant impact on promoting international understanding and collaboration. Its establishment was an essential milestone in the development of the field of international and comparative education. The International Institute attracted tens of thousands of students from different countries to study at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Founded in 2000 by Professor Mun C.Tsang, the Center on Chinese Education (CoCE) aims to contribute to a better understanding of education in China and the educational exchange between the United States and China. Organized by CoCE and the Office of Global Engagement of Teachers College, the symposium aims to connect world-renowned education experts and leaders to discuss international cooperation and provide guidance on how international education can continue to promote social and educational development.
