OGE Visits Fulbright Taiwan

November 2023 - Jazmin Guardado, International Projects and Partnerships Manager (pictured far right), participated in a week-long delegation visit to Taiwan hosted by Fulbright Taiwan, The Foundation for Scholarly Exchange. The visiting higher education consortium delegation, comprised of representatives from top U.S. universities, visited local public schools, prestigious universities in Taipei and Kaohsiung, and met with Taiwan's Ministry of Education.

Memorandum of Understanding Signing with European University for Well-Being

November 2023 - Amine Mechaal, Director of Global Engagement (pictured front center), traveled to Murcia, Spain alongside Dr. Carol Hammer, Vice Dean for Research, and Katie Embree, VP for Planning & Strategy Chief of Staff, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Teachers College and the European University for Well-Being (EUniWell). Funded by the European Commission, EUniWell brings together 11 partner universities across Europe with the purpose of advancing research and collaboration related to 'wellness'—broadly defined.

Faculty interested in research and collaboration opportunities within the EUniWell consortium should contact the Office of Global Engagement or the Office of the Vice Dean of Research.

OGE Welcomes O.P. Jindal Global University

November 2023 - The Office of Global Engagement welcomed a delegation from the O.P. Jindal Global University to discuss opportunities for student exchange and faculty collaboration in the fields of psychology and education. Office of Global Engagement Visit to United Arab Emirates

In October 2023, Amine Mechaal, the Director of the Office of Global Engagement, embarked on a mission to the United Arab Emirates with the aim to foster dialogues on prospective collaborations with both governmental and non-governmental entities within the country. The journey commenced in Dubai, featuring pivotal meetings with prominent education figures such as Dr. Nadeera Alborno, the Dean of the School of Education at the American University in Dubai, and Dr. Mohammed Aboelenein, the Dean of the College of Education at the American University in the Emirates. Subsequently, Mr. Mechaal journeyed to Abu Dhabi, where he engaged in discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Education, exploring avenues for a potential partnership focused on teacher training and international assessment initiatives. The trip culminated with a series of visits to teacher training centers in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, providing Mr. Mechaal with invaluable insights into the current realities and challenges shaping teacher education and licensure in the country. This immersive experience not only strengthened ties but also deepened understanding between TC and its counterparts in the country, paving the way for meaningful collaborations that transcend borders.
