The Climate Action 101 program aims to immerse middle school students with no previous activism experience in climate action. We will be holding biweekly meetings with climate experts at Columbia University and experienced youth climate activists to show our cohort of students what climate action looks like. To kickstart their climate action, students will complete a project of their choosing and use this project to communicate to their peers an aspect of the climate movement they are most passionate about. Their projects will be showcased in a final event at Teachers College for NYC activist and climate education communities. This program is free but registration is required.

We are looking for middle school students in New York City with no previous climate activism experience, but are extremely motivated to learn more about climate change and climate action. Students that will be a good fit for this program will have worked with their school’s Green Team or Environmental Club in the past, can commit to the biweekly meetings every other Thursday from 4:30-5:30 EST, and are willing to complete a communication project throughout the duration of the program. The mandatory program meeting dates are: 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6, 5/20, 6/3
