On October 13, more than fifty Teachers College students joined us and other members of the Sustainability Task Force (STF) in welcoming the Board of Trustees as they arrived for their annual meeting. Our intention was to remind the Board of Trustees that TC students care about climate change, and want TC to lead on divestment, literacy, and awareness, and infrastructure. While the work continues, we believe we succeeded in this.

STF president Christina Torres spoke to members of campus about the urgent need in front of us, and our potential and responsibility, to make a difference. Friends of STF held signs, passed out educational flyers, and greeted the Board of Trustees with invitations to join, and to help. It was an inspiring afternoon after a rather quiet climate week just over a month ago. STF is proud and grateful to all who came out to support. We are also immensely encouraged by the completion of the TC Conceptual Sustainability Planning Report – a tangible product of STF efforts last year, and a strong place from which to continue this effort.
