The Center for Sustainable Futures and the Sustainability Task Force invite submissions for the inaugural Teachers College Sustainability Projects Showcase on January 30, 2025. You can find the call for submissions and the event details here.

Ahead of our submission deadline, we want to invite the Teachers College community to our Sustainability Idea Lab on Wednesday November 20, 2024 in GDH 359. This is a drop in event: stop by whenever you’re available 1-3 PM ET!

We would like to use this opportunity to work with you on ideas you have to submit to the showcase, learn more about the types of sustainability work being done on campus, and answer any questions you have about the showcase event.

Call for Submissions:

The Center for Sustainable Futures and the Sustainability Task Force invite submissions for the inaugural Teachers College Sustainability Projects Showcase. Schools of education are uniquely positioned to address local and global environmental challenges, and we recognize their pivotal role in fostering sustainable solutions. This showcase seeks to bring together students, faculty, and staff to explore innovative approaches to sustainability in the fields of education, health, and psychology. We aim to highlight diverse and creative strategies and methodologies that can drive meaningful change, examining how these sectors can contribute to addressing environmental challenges. Submissions may include, but are not limited to research studies, curriculum designs, interventions, art projects, and community engagement initiatives.

Presentation Opportunities

We encourage submissions from students, faculty, and staff, offering two formats for sharing your work:

  • Lightning Talk (3-5 minutes) followed by a roundtable discussion
  • Poster and/or Multimedia Presentation

We welcome work at all stages—completed projects, projects in progress, and even early-stage ideas.

How to Submit:

Submit your title, authors and co-authors, and abstract (maximum 400 words) for lightning talks or poster presentations by Tuesday, December 10 at 11:59 pm. Space is limited, but we will do our best to accommodate as many presentations as possible. Visit our website to learn more about the Center For Sustainable Futures.
