The Center for Sustainable Futures is thrilled to open its new home at Teachers College — a space designed to support collaboration, reflection, and collective action. The three-room suite includes a personal office for the Center Director, a conference and team meeting room, and a shared group workspace that together create a vibrant hub for research, teaching, and partnership.
This new space marks an important milestone in the Center’s growth. It provides the foundation for deeper engagement among faculty, fellows, and students working to advance sustainability and social justice through education. With areas for both quiet research and dynamic teamwork, the space reflects our commitment to bridging ideas and practice — fostering an environment where innovation and community intersect.
In designing the space, we were intentional about living our values. Nearly all of our desks, tables, and chairs were sourced from gently used campus furniture, diverting materials from the waste stream and giving them a meaningful second life. By choosing reuse over new consumption, we are proud to walk the talk — modeling sustainability in every detail of our work environment.
We look forward to welcoming collaborators, partners, and visitors into this new chapter for the Center as we continue to imagine and build sustainable futures for education and the planet. Come visit us in our new home in Grace Dodge Hall, Room 274 — our door is open for conversation, creativity, and collaboration.
