We are thrilled to welcome a new semester and announce the Spring 2026 lineup for the Center for Sustainable Futures!

The season launches with the 2nd Annual Teachers College Sustainability Showcase, a convening designed to challenge the boundaries of academic expression. Moving beyond traditional research formats, the showcase invites the TC community to engage with sustainability through multimodal work—including visuals, sound, movement, and performance. This transdisciplinary gathering is grounded in a critical inquiry: How can sustainability initiatives foster social change and resonate with publics beyond the university?

In mid-February, we transition this focus into K–12 education through the Mid-Winter Climate Institute. This two-day intensive is designed to equip educators with multidisciplinary tools to integrate climate literacy into existing curricula. Prioritizing resource exchange and peer collaboration, the Institute aims to shift climate education from a topic of abstract urgency to a practical component of daily instruction.

Finally, this campus-based work will carry forward into national and international scholarly spaces. CSF research and initiatives will be featured at the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) (March 28-April 1, 2026) and American Educational Research Association (AERA) (April 8-12, 2026) annual conferences. These engagements position our work within broader global conversations, translating local practice into shared knowledge across research communities.

Together, these initiatives mark a semester dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and action—from creative dialogue on campus to direct support for educators in the field.
