Admissions

Info Sessions are offered during the week on Mondays.  Please schedule your visit to see available dates.  They provide an overview of TC and its offerings. TC also offers tours on weekdays. We invite you to visit Teachers College to learn more about the admission process, student life, and the campus community. The following activities are offered to you during your visit:

• Admission Information Session - 10:30 AM (Monday)
• TC Campus Tour - 12:00 PM (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)
• Residential Housing Tour - 1:00 PM (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)

You will receive an e-mail confirming the date of your visit and the activities requested. The check-in location is the Office of Admission (301 Thorndike). Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of your session. Should you need additional information or if you need to change your appointment, please contact Ashley Ewing at aewing@tc.edu

Please note that we also have a self-guided walking tour that can be completed at your leisure if the scheduled tours we offer do not fit your schedule.  The self-guided walking tour can be found here or retrieved from the Office of Admission, which is located on the 3rd Floor of Thorndike Hall.

Open Houses are offered approximately three times a year.  They are significantly larger than our info sessions and provide a more comprehensive look at the college, its individual departments, and application instructions.  The open houses typically feature faculty speakers, alumni speakers, and individual sessions where prospective students can meet others who are interested in their desired field of study.  In addition, prospective students will have the opportunity to speak with the admission liaison from their specific department.

Online chats are offered periodically throughout the year and hosted by the Office of Admission staff to provide prospective students with an opportunity to learn about TC through the web and answer questions regarding the application process.  See a list of upcoming chats to register!

Appointments (in person or phone) may be scheduled with a representative from the Admission Office to answer any additional questions you may have about the admission process.  Please note, we strongly encourage applicants to first attend an Admission Info Session before scheduling an appointment, as this provides very detailed information about the application process, and to review the TC website.

One-on-one appointments are not required.  These appointments are not interviews and last 30 minutes.  The appointments are most useful prior to submitting an application if you have questions that were not answered in the Admission Info Session or cannot be found on the website.  To schedule an admission appointment, please contact the Office of Admission at (212) 678-3710.
