Philosophy Outreach

The Philosophy Outreach, run by students from the Philosophy and Education program, is dedicated to engaging children and youth in philosophical inquiry. The outreach program organizes events and workshops to discuss both the theory and practice of doing philosophy with young people.

 

Through partnerships with NYC schools, organizations, and teachers, we aim to help interested students develop as facilitators of philosophical dialogues, by observing experienced practitioners and by developing both curricular materials and pedagogical skills. In due course, we hope outreach members might expand their activity to include running their own courses, workshops, or groups with collaborating schools and educational organizations in NYC.
