Dear TC Community,
I hope you’ve adjusted to the clocks falling back and embraced the extra hour of rest on Sunday morning. It’s hard to believe it’s already November. The outside temperature has started dropping and the next few weeks tend to fly by for most, myself included.
Each year, we aim to proactively share important information that is helpful to colleagues in planning their time away from the office. Accordingly, please be reminded that the College will be closed on the following dates:

Thanksgiving Break - Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, 2023
Winter Break - Monday, December 25, 2023, through Monday, January 1, 2024

The College’s Administration has approved early closings on the business day before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Accordingly, on both November and December 22 this year, operational hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Paid Holidays for Staff has been updated to include these changes. Please review the additional guidance for Full Time Staff below:
- If there’s a conflict with the operations of your department, please coordinate with your supervisor.
- If you are a full-time hourly employee and have questions about how to record the hours between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on your timesheet, please speak with your supervisor.
- If you take the day off (for vacation, sick or a personal day), you should still record 7 hours of leave time.
The College will resume operations following the winter holiday break on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. As in the past, the expectation for on-campus presence may be relaxed based on operational needs at the department supervisor's discretion and as approved by the departmental Cabinet member.
