Cowin Center and First Floor of Horace Mann2007
Full renovation of the Cowin Center Auditorium to upgrade and modernize the space to accommodate large scale events. The renovation also included the full interior fit-outs of the first floor classrooms of Horace Mann.
Photo Lab (Digital Media Lab) Interior Fit-OutSummer-Fall 2010
The new digital Photo Lab in Thorndike Hall opened in Fall 2011 replacing the original photograph wet lab in Grace Dodge Hall. The interior fit-out includes new light fixtures, ceilings, flooring and furniture.
Mysak RenovationSummer 2010
Full interior renovation of the existing Mysak Speech and Hearing Center to modernize the facility and meet the growth needs for the program and staff.
Klingenstein CenterSummer 2009
Full interior renovation of the existing Klingenstein Center to modernize the space.
Phase I Water Penetration RemediationFall 2007-Fall 2008
Exterior facade and roof replacement and remediation to address the on-going water penetration issues in Grace Dodge, Macy and the north side of Horace Mann.
Thorndike 7th Floor - Reading and Writing Program9/1/2011 - 12/31/2011
The Reading and Writing Program will be undergoing a large-scale renovation project on the 7th floor of Thorndike Hall due to the demand for additional space to support the growing programmatic needs. The new design will include an internal staircase to connect the 7th and 8th floors of Thorndike to ease internal traffic flow and aid the connectivity of the two floors. The new design will maintain the design intent for the 8th floor, while incorporating elements to both modernize and enhance the existing space
Residential Feasibility Study3/1/2011 - 9/1/2011
Teachers College is undergoing a full feasibility study of Bancroft, Grant and Sarasota. Due to the age and on-going infrastructure issues of the three buildings, our objective is to correct and address the infrastructure needs to meet the needs of modern-day students and better their quality of life.
Sidewalk Vaults7/5/2011 - 12/31/2011
This past year, we have completed Phase I of the Sidewalk Vault Project. Our next phase of work is to begin this summer 2011 which will incorporate two vault locations on 121st Street. This project was created to correct and eliminate the consistent water penetration from the street level into our ground level areas.
Seth Low BoilerSpring-Fall 2011
Due to the age of the existing boilers in Seth Low, a full replacement of the boilers with more fuel efficient technology is currently taking place.
Grace-Dodge Cafeteria Grease StackSummer 2011
Modification to the existing Grease Stack for the cafeteria.
Mysak MechanicalSummer 2010
Full replacement of three mechanical units replaced by one high efficient unit connected to the new chilled water supply.
Seth Low RoofFall 2009-Spring 2010
Full roof replacement and coping stone restoration for the Seth Low building.
Thorndike 4th floor CCRCSummer-Fall 2010
Full floor renovation of the fourth floor of Thorndike Hall to accommodate the staffing and programming needs for CCRC.
Phase II Water Penetration RemediationFall 2010-Spring 2011
Exterior facade and roof replacement and remediation to address the on-going water penetration on the west and south sides of the Horace Mann and Thompson Hall buildings
