Past Educator Workshops

Voices from the Land

In collaboration with the educators from the Monarch Teacher Network, Hollingworth Preschool hosted one and half day workshops focusing on the interactions between nature, science, art, creative expression, and technology. Engaging teachers in the philosophical approaches regarding the role of nature in education, teachers are provided opportunities for rich hands on experiences and activities to directly bring back into the classroom! Workshops are held in the classroom as well as at our local parks, emphasizing nature as classroom and teacher.

Teaching and Learning With Monarch Butterflies

Each fall, monarch butterflies from the U.S. and Canada begin a 2,000 mile migration to Mexico. The following spring, their great grandchildren return. 'Teaching and Learning With Monarch Butterflies' is a two-day teacher workshop combining classroom and field experiences emphasizing the journey and life cycle of the Monarch butterfly. Participants are provided with the knowledge, skills, materials and confidence to raise Monarchs in the classroom and create an outstanding learning experience for their students.
