In Brief

John Allegrante (Health and Behavior Studies) received the 2002 SOPHE Mentor Award at the SOPHE annual meeting November 3rd in Philadelphia.

Sharon Lynn Kagan, Jeanne Brooks-Gunn and Pia Rebello (Human Development) have been awarded a project called "Going Global With Indicators of Child Development" by UNICEF. This new study will focus on assisting seven countries-Jordan, Ghana, India, Paraguay, Phillippines (or Vietnam), Uganda and Turkey-to develop nationally accepted and defined indicators of children's psycho-social development. They will help facilitate the process of developing the indicators and then help them come to an understanding of what they can measure, maintain, implement and monitor.

Lee Knefelkamp (Organization and Leadership) was recently appointed to a national board for Cable in the Classroom.
