Dr. Irving Hamer, Jr., former Deputy Superintendent for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and former New York City Board of Education member joins The Millennium Group (TMG) to launch a proven Education turn around service.

Dr. Hamer is one of the nation's foremost leaders and activists for education. Innovative policies and programs mark his distinguished career in academia, public, nonprofit, and private sectors. Results of his work emerging from Miami-Dade County Public Schools challenge conventional wisdom about school improvement in urban centers. Perhaps most compelling are the bodies of data proving sustainable quantum leaps in school reform are possible in a short period of time.

During his 30-plus years as an educator, Hamer has served as Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Department of Education, member of the New York City Board of Education, school administrator, teacher, and professor. His entire career has been dedicated to improving education for the most vulnerable and fragile students in the nation's school systems.

Prior to work at Miami-Dade, Hamer served as Professor of Practice in Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, co-chairman of TestU.com, a start-up educational service, and Executive Vice President of Simon & Schuster-'s Secondary Education Group, where he managed strategic planning, technology integration and new business development for a group of companies.
