West 120th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue was renamed Teachers College Way.

TC’s 125th anniversary year ended with a Gala celebration at Harlem’s Apollo Theater and the launch of the campaign Where the Future Comes First

New York City Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña delivered the Phyllis L. Kossoff  Lecture on Education & Policy at TC’s Academic Festival.

TC mourned longtime Trustee James Benkard; George Bond, William F. Russell

Professor of Anthropology; and Maxine Greene, Professor Emerita of Philosophy and Education. 

With its next cohort, the Cowin Financial Literacy Project, funded by Trustee Joyce B. Cowin (M.A.’52), will have directly reached over half of New York City public school students. The program is available free online to all U.S. high schools.
