TC's Garber on CBS News: High Intensity Interval Training "Powerful" in Improving Health Risk Factors

 

Research shows high intensity training (HIIT) is getting a lot of attention in health and fitness circles. HIIT stimulates the muscles to burn fat and sugar more effectively. "It can be pretty powerful in improving people's risk factors for heart disease and diabetes," says Carol Ewing Garber, Professor of Movement Sciences and Director of the Graduate Program in Applied Physiology, on CBS News. Garber teaches the science of exercise in the Department of Biobehavioral Sciences.
